My name is Roderick McDonald, but most people know me as Rod. I have over 20 years of experience in IT networking, infrastructure, cloud, and secure remote access. Over the years, I’ve earned expert-level certifications with enterprise platforms like Cisco, Fortinet, and other leading vendors, and I’ve had the opportunity to work across some demanding environments, including the military, government contracting, and healthcare.
I’m a husband and a father of two, and family is at the center of everything I do. I care deeply about serving my community and helping organizations operate reliably and securely, especially those that don’t always have access to enterprise-level expertise. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, music, and training in martial arts, including boxing and Muay Thai. I’m also someone who genuinely enjoys learning new skills and technologies, particularly when they help people and communities communicate more securely.
I created Divided7 Networks to share the knowledge and experience I’ve built over the last two decades with friends, family, and local businesses that want to improve or modernize their IT infrastructure without unnecessary complexity. My focus is on practical, secure solutions that fit the real needs of the organization, not overbuilt systems that don’t add value.
Divided7 Networks provides IT consulting services to small businesses, with a strong emphasis on rural healthcare, churches, and faith-based organizations. My goal is to bring clarity, reliability, and peace of mind through technology, while building long-term relationships based on trust and service.
